Funeral services for Vivian Vance Smith, age 87, of Grenada, are at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at the Mortimer National Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Grenada Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mortimer National Funeral Home.
Vivian died Sunday, March 4, 2018 at her home.
She was born on September 21, 1930 in Carroll County and was the daughter of the late Ernest Vance and Alida May Vance.
Vivian was employed by Pennaco Hosiery Mill for twenty years. She was a member Central Baptist Church. Vivian loved cooking and according to her family she was one of the best at old-time cooking. She loved music and she loved her family. Vivian always had a friendly smile and loved meeting and talking to people. Her hobby was her grandchildren. Vivian loved well and was well loved.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Betty Smith, Thelma Felker and Syble Heath; three brothers, W.E. Vance, Glyn Vance and H.R. “Jack” Vance, and one niece, Sharon Fisk.
She is survived by her husband, James Edward Smith of Grenada; three daughters, Larraine Love of Elliott, Martha Thomas of Grenada, and Angela Robinson of Oakland; one son, Vance Smith of Grenada; two brothers, Billy Vance and E.B. Vance, both of Grenada; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mortimer National Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
