Funeral services for Charles Terry Whitfield, age 54, of Murfreesboro, TN, formerly of Grenada and Columbus, are at 2 p.m., Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at the Mortimer National Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Elliott Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation is Monday from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Mortimer National Funeral Home in Grenada.
Terry passed away suddenly on February 23, 2017 at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
He was born on May 4, 1962 and was the son of Charles William and Faye Lancaster Whitfield of Murfreesboro and formerly Grenada.
Terry was a member of the Elliott Baptist Church. He graduated from Kirk Academy in Grenada and attended Mississippi Community College and Mississippi State University where he obtained an Associates Degree in Engineering. He was a Product Engineer for Backer EHP, Inc. (formerly Emerson) for 28 years. Terry was a loving Son, Father, and G-Daddy. He enjoyed turkey hunting, fishing, golfing, and cooking. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and especially enjoyed being G-Daddy to his grandson. His love for his friends and family as well as his kindness will be forever missed.
Terry is survived by his parents, Charles William and Faye Lancaster Whitfield; one daughter, Kristen Brooke Potts, and her husband Michael; one grandson, Kaden Tyler Potts;.
Memorials may be made to Elliott Baptist Church or to the charity of the donor‘s choice.
