Funeral services for Charles N. Felker, age 93, of Grenada, are at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 2,2017 at Lakewood Independent Methodist Church in Grenada. Burial will follow in Grenada Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation is Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mortimer National Funeral Home.
Charles died Sunday, February 26, 2017 at UMMC-Grenada.
He was born on October 20, 1923 in Tishamingo County and was the son of the late Charlie and Willie Felker.
Charles was employed by Heatcraft as a Group Leader until his retirement. He was also a farmer. He raised chickens and loved gardening. Charles was a charter member of Lakewood Independent Methodist Church and a Charter Member of Board of Directors of Kirk Academy. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Willie Felker; his wife, Thelma “Sissy“ Felker; his daughter, Daphene Felker Cook; two sisters, Arnell Nichols and Ruth Wright; one brother, Noel Felker; and one great-great-grandson, Carter Reed.
He is survived by his son, Ernest Felker and his wife, Sherry, of Grenada; his son-in-law, Phillip Cook of Grenada; one brother, Jimmy Williams of Grenada; eight grandchildren, Victoria Derveloy and her husband, Bob, Jenifer Friday, Kevin Felker, Lance Felker and his wife, Caroline, Jeremy Cook, Josh Cook, Bethany Jones and her husband, Mark, and Jonathan Cook; twelve great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
