Charles “Chuck” Tolbert Hill, age 83, died Saturday, June 24, 2017 at his home in Tillatoba, Mississippi.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m., Monday, June 26, 2017 at Mortimer National Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Wayside Cemetery at Scobey. Bro. Ricky Harris and Bro. Danny Aldridge will officiate the service.
Visitation is Monday from noon until 2 p.m. at Mortimer National Funeral Home.
Charles was the 11th person hired at McQuay in 1954. After serving the company for 45 years in various capacities with the last being in Sales for Heatcraft, he retired in 1999. His career included serving the Yalobusha County Sheriff’s Department as a deputy for 8 years. He attended Wayside Baptist Church in Scobey where he was a faithful member.
He leaves his wife of 64 years, Pearl Hubbard Hill and one son, Tommy Hill (Kitty) of Tillatoba.
Survivors include five grandchildren: Kim Gatlin (Stephen) of Coffeeville, Leigh Norris (Daniel) of Abbeville, Marc Hill (Brittany) of Ashdown, Arkansas, Emy Hill (Will) of Oakland, Mississippi, and Heather Rozier (Matthew) of Greenwood. Great-grandchildren include: Reed Madden, Mitchell Madden, Caroline Norris, Rileigh Hope Brogan, Anna Lyon Gatlin, Amelia Norris, Isabella Hill, Sidney Hill, Addison Hill, Ty Hill and Mattie Brooke Rozier. He is also survived by two sisters, Agnes Tribble and Janelle Giger, both of Grenada, and a host of nieces and nephews.
