Funeral services for Bobby Eugene Robinson, Sr., age 84, of Grenada, are at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the Mortimer National Funeral Home Chapel in Grenada. Burial will follow in Grenada Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Mortimer National Funeral Home.
Bobby died Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at his home.
He was born on February 21, 1933 in Montgomery County, Mississippi and was the son of Bob Robinson and Lillian Jones Robinson.
Bobby retired from Heatcraft as Supervisor of the Brazing Department. He also retired from Enterprise Car Rentals. Bobby was a member and Elder of the Southside Church of Christ in Grenada. He was also a member of the Grenada Exchange Club, a Life Member of the VFW Post 4488, a member of the P&A Board in Jackson, Past President of NMRC Friends for the Handicapped – Oxford, Friends of First Street Gallery, and a member of the Mississippi Council on Developmental Disabilites. Bobby served in the U.S. Army, the Mississippi National Guard and the Army Reserve and retired from the National Guard as a Master Sergeant.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bob Robinson; his mother, Lillian Jones Robinson Minga; his wife, Sarah Woods Robinson; and one brother, Franklin Robinson.
Bobby is survived by three daughters, Delia R Owens of Madison, Catherine R. Jobe of Vicksburg, and Charlene R. Wooten of Bartlett, Tennessee; two sons, Bobby E. Robinson, Jr. of Grenada and Brett W. Robinson of Laurel; one sister, Linda Robinson of Memphis; two brothers, James H. Robinson and Jimmie Robinson, both of Grenada; nine grandchildren, Nikki Jobe Whittington, Ashlea Wooten, Mary Brett Robinson, Alexandria Owens, Lucy Robinson, Blake Jobe, Kacey Wooten, and Benjamin Owens; two great-grandchildren, Katie Faith Whittington and Hadley Mae Wooten; and a host of nieces and nephews.
